Dr. Cohen is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, LASIK, corneal transplants, glaucoma surgery, and intravitreal injections for macular disorders.
Dr. Cohen earned both his doctorates from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed his residency and fellowship at University of Iowa. Following his training, he was on the faculty at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, serving as fellowship director and receiving the Stanley Muenzler, MD Endowed Professor of Corneal Disease. After his time in academic medicine, Dr Cohen moved back to Iowa where he was partner in a busy private practice. He is now back in his home state of Arizona.
Dr. Cohen continues to serve as an oral board examiner and helps develop the oral and written examinations for certifying the next generation of ophthalmologists. Since 2015, he has traveled to the African nation of Eswatini, helping to establish a high volume medical and surgical eye care program.
